Good news, everyone! At long, looooong last, High Risk is finally a reality! It’s been a wild and nerve-wracking few days for me getting ready for this book to go live, and after so long I can’t believe it’s finally here. I want to laugh and cry and maybe throw up just a little from the agony and ecstasy of waiting to see if people will love or hate my book.
The past year (hell, closer to two years, as mortifying as that is to admit) has been an extremely trying time for me; apart from everything else that’s been going on in the world in 2020, I’ve been struggling a lot with my anxiety and depression, and some of you may already be aware from a previous blog post of mine that my uncle and grandfather both passed away last year. While writing and pouring out my feelings through my characters has been helpful to me in a lot of ways, it’s also been extremely difficult, and at times I felt like I should just give up entirely.
But, I didn’t. And now, after an eternity in Romancelandia time, I have something to show for all my effort!

For those of you who have been keeping up with my sparse book news, you might’ve noticed something… different about the published version of High Risk. For starters, there’s a shiny new cover! And that’s partially because the series title is no longer the Risky Business Duet; it’s the Risky Business Trilogy. Long story short, the story was getting, uh, long. Too long, and too unwieldy for one first book. So, I did I what I probably should’ve done a while ago and split this one into two: High Risk (out now, obvs), and Flying High, coming August 8th. Book three, High Reward, will be out in September. I know, right? Another book in a little over two weeks?

I’m just so thrilled beyond words to be finally sharing this book with all of you, and I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. I do regret that I wasn’t able to have it out so much sooner; part of the reason why I hesitated for so long to cut this into two books was because I was afraid to weaken the emotional punch of the ending of the first book and to also end it on a cliffhanger. I swore to myself that after Whip Smart, I wouldn’t end the first book in this series on a cliffhanger, but… wellllll… in my defense, I don’t think the ending of this one is as frustrating as I know the ending of Whip Smart was, in part because you’ll only have to wait a couple weeks to see how it turns out in the next one! And boy, are you in for a real rollercoaster in Flying High, and then book three… well, you’ll just have to read on and find out. 😉
As for those of you who’ve been waiting for even longer for Tangled Love, fear not, because that is coming soon as well, either late August or early September. You can most likely expect to see a deluge of book releases from me over the next few months, because while it’s true that everything I’ve been working through in regards to my mental health and various personal setbacks has made it difficult to concentrate and power through to finish a book, I have managed to write most of or part of multiple books. So, in recent months it’s just been a matter of re-centering my focus and re-evaluating my goals so that I could finish them all one after another.
But, as I once said a long time ago, I’m trying to curb my habit of promising a book release in the near future when I’m not 100% certain I’ll be able to keep that promise, and burn myself out mentally/emotionally trying to finish things up at the last minute. So while I’m pretty confident that you can expect to see both book three of The Loft and the finale of Risky Business by the end of September (and book four of The Loft in October at the latest) based on how much piecemeal work I’ve accomplished on all my various projects, just keep in mind that these are optimistic projections and not set in stone. As long as I have all these books and at least the first book of another series I’m starting out by the end of this year, I’ll be immensely proud of myself, and I hope you’ll all be happy, too.
So, without further ado, I hope you all fall in love with Kiera and Caleb as I have, and that you don’t get too frustrated with them in this first installment! Thank you so much for sticking by me and being the best readers an author could ask for. This book is dedicated to you guys.
